Life is a rollercoaster, and sometimes that ride goes downhill, twisting and turning through the terrain of grief. Buckle up! This isn’t a fun fair; it’s a wild adventure of feelings, memories, and moments that can leave you breathless—sometimes in the best way and often in the most unexpected.

Our Story

My name is Krystal Plaisance, and I am blessed with a wonderful husband and an amazing daughter. I also had a son who was my world. My grief began on June 22, 2023, the day my 23-year-old son, Jai, didn’t wake up. That moment changed my life forever.

We’re originally from Louisiana but moved to San Antonio five years ago, while Jai stayed behind. He worked hard every day as a plumber. Along the way, he became addicted to opioids. He came to San Antonio for rehab, and I was so proud of him when he completed the program. He was thriving, full of hope, and had so many plans for his future.

Then, tragically, Jai made the decision to buy Xanax, not knowing it was laced with fentanyl. We believe he may have taken it because he was struggling to sleep. That choice cost him his life.

Now, I share his story-our story-because no parent should ever have to go through the pain of losing their child. I carry his memory with me, and I will continue to tell his story for as long as I live.

New Drug called Pink cocaine

A parent can never fully explain to another the kind of pain that is felt when a child dies. There is a constant overriding sadness, and a forever ache. Missing a child touches every aspect of our lives and we will never be the same again. Child loss literally changes everything in a parent’s life.
